The Tories have finally announced - to no one’s surprise - that yes, of course, they plan to abolish the license fee. Cool.
Not unrelated, the Media Reform Coalition has published a document that gives a shorthand overview for the key issues facing progressive media campaigners this year (so far…)

Culture secretary Nadine Dorries announced this week that the BBC license fee will be frozen for the next two years, and “abolished completely” in 2027. Director general Tim Davie claimed this will leave the broadcaster with a funding gap of over £250 million. (The Guardian)
